Holger Jetses modern leadership coach

Your mentor:
Holger Jetses

"I want to share my extensive global experience and modern leadership principles with my mentees in an authentic, empathetic and "to the point" style."

When I am not working ...

"I am a North German at heart, and feel at home all over the world.  I have travelled to more than 50 countries, lived in China and three other European countries outside Germany.

As a proud father of four children, the two youngest keep me "on my toes" at school and kindergarten age. One reason why I feel younger than my ID card says. Another is my passion for fitness and endurance sports, which I have cultivated since my school days. This has enabled me to finish various marathons and Ironman triathlons.

Relaxation and well-being are important themes in my life. Spending time in nature, good friends, good music, audio books and model making (increasingly with the youngest ones) are giving me valuable energy."

Mentoring junior managers

Seen from above it was a straight line

"I spent three decades in the automotive supply industry, working for four companies, almost 10 years abroad. Early on, I took on my first management functions and gradually developed into a general manager. I led customer units, regional or global business units and held positions as managing director or board member. I gained experience in smaller private and larger listed companies, both in functional and matrix organizations, with very different cultures. The career was straightforward, yet varied and very satisfying for me. "

Arrival in the "People Business"

"As with many successful managers, for a long time the subject matter, the content and the next goal were at the forefront of my thoughts and actions. Only over the years and with the help of critical feedback, my priorities shifted. Building and maintaining relationships in my professional environment increasingly became the focus of my attention and efforts, without losing sight of the business goals. Really knowing the person, caring, trusting each other, and actively engaging all employees and their perspectives resulted not only in better team performance and deepened client relationships, but also in increased appreciation and much more enjoyment and satisfaction at work. I had arrived in the 'people business'".

The joy of mentoring

"And then I discovered the joy that sharing of my experiences - both critical and positive - and my understanding of modern leadership can bring as a mentor. Both the work with the mentees and the perception of the positive effect of the energy used gave me great satisfaction. For many years, I worked with talented managers from my employers in different cultures. Positive feedback and visible success then moved me to make mentoring the focus of my professional self-employment. Since 2023, I work with emerging and ambitious leaders to help them build trusting working relationships based on their personal motivations and to guide them in their 'people business'".
